EM Coding

Last year I was having some health issues after being away from the US for a short period, and decided to make myself busy and put together a series of articles on topics in radio science — often the ones you won't find in an antenna book. In a way, radio science is really the older field, and most of the historical figures had degrees in natural science and philosophy — a precursor to modern physics degrees, in a way. John Kraus, for example, had a degree in natural science. Radio science, at least in my view, comes from this lineage, and is usually taught in engineering schools due to the necessity of understanding RF and antenna engineering — but the RF design piece is important. It's everything from a microwave oven to a radio telescope to an MRI machine. There isn't a universally accepted definition, but I guess that's basically mine. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this selection of topics. A book is on the way — but that's a slow process. The math has never been easy, and the 50 boxes of books that adorn my bookcase are basically the reason you can't buy them on Amazon anymore :) — sorry about that. In any case, all jokes aside — enjoy!
